I do not accept insurance in my private practice. While it may seem counterintuitive, forgoing insurance is in the best interest of our patients. I will explain some of those advantages and payment alternatives if you still desire to utilize your insurance benefits.
Choosing a cash-pay psychiatrist can offer several advantages:
- Focus on Quality Patient-Centered Care: Over the past 10 years, Cash pay practices have become increasingly common due to the hassle of processing payments via insurance companies and declining trends in reimbursement rates. Since I do not have to deal with the red tape of insurance companies, I can spend more time with patients, focusing on the treatment plan instead of chasing insurance companies.
- Enhanced Privacy and Confidentiality: Every patient is ensured both of those mentioned above; all of the data stored within our network has multiple layers of encryption, which is HIPPA compliant. However, if you choose a self-pay model, your information is stored in fewer areas and disseminated less due to not having to share it with insurance companies. Healthcare is by far one of the biggest targets of cybercrime, being a top target for hackers in 2023; this is a way to help protect your identity and anonymity.
- Super-bills for Insurance Reimbursement: If you would like to utilize your insurance, I will provide super-bills at the end of each visit. The superbil will contain CPT codes, which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Reimbursement rates may vary; please get in touch with your insurance company for rates and specifics when processing claims.
